Although found all over the world, Pine trees are native to the Northern Hemisphere and Pine needles have been considered an important medicinal tool for indigenous cultures for thousands of years. Our wild organic Douglas Fir needles are foraged fresh from Knockmany forest; you will receive pine needles freshly stripped from the sprig! This tea has a citrusy flavour with a hint of resin, if you nibble on Douglas Fir needles, you experience a burst of tangy citrus followed by a “pine-like” flavour. Douglas Fir needles contain many vitamins - C, A, K, B1, B2, P, carotene, zinc, iron, antioxidants and other biologically active substances such as flavonoids, Suramin and Shikimic Acid. This tea has a pleasant natural taste and smell, has 5 times the concentration of vitamin C found in oranges, and is said to bring relief to conditions such as heart disease, varicose veins, skin complaints and fatigue.
